New Year in Liptov - with halfboard, swimming pool, wellness and New Year's Eve dinner.
Welcome to the Museum of the Liptov Village in Pribylina, which is part of the Liptov Museum in Ružomberok. The foundation stone of the open-air museum was laid in 1972 and opened to the public in 1991. In the past, several Liptov municipalities with the privileges and rights of small towns were characterized by such a settlement arrangement as you have the opportunity to see here. The houses come from several Liptov villages, mostly from the area flooded by the Liptovská Mara dam. They are copies of original buildings with numerous original elements. In addition to wooden folk architecture, you will also find reconstructions of two exceptional medieval stone buildings from the floodplain: the early Gothic church of Our Lady of Liptovská Mary (from the village whose name is now a dam) and the Gothic-Renaissance manor house from Parížovice. Here you have the opportunity to see the expositions of housing and way of life of various social strata of the population of Liptov at the turn of the 19th and in the first third of the 20th century. Housing of a landless, middle and rich farmer, craftsman, municipal mayor, village school, etc. Attractive expositions of housing in the upper social strata of Liptov land are in the land manor from Paludze and in the manor house from Parížovice. Especially during the summer season, our offer is enriched with programs. These are performances by folklore groups and ensembles, reconstructions of folk customs and ceremonies. At that time, folk artists work directly in the museum, so you can buy an original folk art product directly from them or in our store. Lovers of the animal kingdom may be interested in the fact that the museum also breeds domestic animals. Sheep, goats and horses. The expositions of housing in wooden houses are open and freely accessible. Each house in the museum has an information text in Slovak, English, German and Polish. The staff of the Liptov Museum will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
